How Northway would approach it

Offer 01 · AI Opportunity Assessment

How Northway reads it

A prioritization problem wearing a technology costume. The interest exists, maybe the budget too; the decision about where AI changes a number somebody owns does not. Until it does, every pilot is a pilot.

What Northway would look at

  • What leadership is accountable for this year, in numbers
  • Every pilot and vendor conversation in flight, with an owner or without one
  • The data, systems and workflows any real deployment would depend on

What a first engagement looks like

  1. Conversations with the leaders who own the results and the people who do the work
  2. Candidate use cases drawn from how the business actually runs, not a feature list
  3. Each ranked against the result it could change, the effort, the risk, and the capacity for change
  4. A readout with the leadership team, and a plan with names on it

What you hold at the end

  • A ranked short list with the reasoning shown
  • A recommended approach for each: build, buy, partner, or wait
  • A sequenced roadmap with owners and decision points

Ask about it

Illustrative. Drawn from the kind of problem each offer is for, not from past engagements. No timeline or outcome is promised; the real plan is written after a conversation and agreed before work begins.

03 / Three ways to work together

Start where the problem is.

Three offers built around real business problems. Each starts with a clear scope and can stand alone or grow into an ongoing advisory relationship.

04 / Who you would work with

An operator, first.

Northway is built by an operator who understands both what leadership wants to achieve and what it takes to make it happen.

Chris Finnerty founded Northway after years in enterprise commercial leadership, much of it in advertising technology: strategic partnerships, complex commercial negotiations, go-to-market execution, and the revenue organizations that carry them. The plans were his to write and his to deliver.

“I have sat through the deck. I have also been the person who had to make it true on Monday.”

Chris Finnerty, Founder and Principal

Most advisors bring one or the other. The commercial experience says which problems are worth solving and how an organization will actually respond. The building says what is realistic, what is noise, and what it takes to run the answer once the meeting ends.

  • You work with the founder, not a team handed down after the sale.
  • Scope is written before work starts and revisited when reality changes it.
  • No software to sell, no platforms to resell, no implementation revenue to protect.
  • If the right answer is a smaller project, a different partner, or waiting, that is the answer you get.

05 / Operating principles

The plan is not the work.

If it cannot survive Tuesday, it is not strategy. Three habits the industry repeats, and what Northway does instead.

  1. The habit: An AI pilot is an implementation strategy.Northway: A pilot earns its place by changing a number someone owns. Otherwise it is a demo with a budget.
  2. The habit: A beautifully presented roadmap is a plan.Northway: Every line of a Northway roadmap has a name on it. No name, no line.
  3. The habit: Your people need another presentation about AI.Northway: They need to leave with workflows they can use on Monday. Hands on, on live work, with guardrails.
